Clubs

The club aims at providing opportunities to our budding artists to learn and practice various art forms and develop their aesthetic sense. Their artistic talent is put to display on the school boards, at art exhibitions and various competitions of the tricity.

Students are trained on Western dance including Fusion Free style and Hip Hop, Kathak, Bhangra, Bollywood, Contemporary and Latin Dance. Dance becomes an integral part of all morning assemblies and is used as a medium for students to express their emotions and feelings.

Students are trained to create and program robots as part of design thinking activities. The club helps develop logical thinking and prepare for competitions like FLL and Robotics Olympiads.

The main aim of the STEM Club is to inculcate a scientific aptitude among students. The activities include fun experiments in Science, Do It Yourself Science projects, study of Scientists’ work, Visits/Workshops/Talks by people working in the field of Science. Students are given a conceptual understanding of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. They use this learning to do projects by the scientific method, create hypotheses, carry out experimentation to achieve results. They also carry out design thinking projects wherein they identify problems in the society and use STEM to provide solutions to it. Their work is exhibited through STEM exhibitions at the end of each term. Students from this club are encouraged to take part in various Science exhibitions.

The film making club is conducted by Purple People Labs, a Youth Driven Media Network. The students are mentored to think, write a story, screenplay, shoot, act and edit their experiences and stories as films. The films made by students are sent to various national and international film festivals and are also screened at multiplexes for the parents and general public. Their films have premiered at SIFFCY – Smile International Film Festival for Children and Youth.

The Katha club is a budding authors’ programme that is conducted by The Learning Curve Academy, headed by Ms. Suditi Jindal, author of ‘Grow Up Moon’ and a corporate trainer. The programme progresses stage wise from creative writing through reading various genres of literature, brushing up grammar skills, composing paragraphs and dialogues, reading and reviewing short stories, character sketches, weaving a narrative to the last stage being independent composition of a short story and getting it published. This club helps our best readers to move one step forward to becoming authors! They contribute to the school newsletters, yearbook and other magazines and newspapers.

Sculpt Eye conducts this club and develops in the students a passion for photography, will to explore, learn and create. The club not only teaches them the nityy gritty of the camera and its parts, but also conducts photo walks in the city and outside to give them hands-on training. The club has recently taken photo walks at the Leisure Valley, Chhatbir Zoo, Kumhar colony, Kalibarhi and to a hill station, Jibhi in Himachal Pradesh.

The club helps prepare the students for debates, declamations, MUNs and the World Scholars’ Cup. This helps students improve their communication skills and gain confidence in public speaking.
